Owing to the irregular shape of the shaft collar and the weathered rock, it was necessary to remove the loose material and square the shaft off. The machine used was a 'windy pick' due it's light weight. Two hundred meters of two inch air line had to be ran from a compressor down the valley which was brought up by the team.
