It was a slightly nerve racking moment when it came to fitting the grill, would it all fit together correctly. The three sections were hoisted into position and guided onto the bolts. With the first section secured, the platform below was dismantled and the next sections lowered into place. After the final piece was in place, the wall had to be partly built back up to prevent sheep from getting too close. Ten bags of sand and cement had to be carried across the river and up the gully to the shaft top. |
